We had 3 realistic chances to see Northern Lights – aka Aurora Borealis – in the far north of Norway on our recent cruise. The first night drew a blank, the second had some aurora seen intermittently through thick clouds. The third night, in Alta, was spectacular! Perfectly clear with the Milky Way stretching overhead and an amazing colorful display of lights. These pictures were taken at a camp in the countryside and on our balcony on the ship, where the display continued right up until sailing time.
